Sloboda Tuzla focuses on a defensive identity built to soak up pressure and strike on the break, utilizing a 5-4-1 formation. This lineup is designed to sit deep and deny space in central areas, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. The team prioritizes a compact block that forces opposition play to the wings.

Vukadinović guards the goal as the last line of defense. The back five consists of Ivančić and Biljan as the central defenders, with Stojković acting as the third man in that central trio. Ivančić and Biljan cover the space while Stojković holds the line. On the flanks, Grgić and Vinogradac operate as attacking wing backs. These two players are tasked with providing width when the team has the ball but must track back quickly to maintain the defensive line.

The midfield operates in a flat four to maintain horizontal compactness. Osmanković and Božičković occupy the central spaces to shield the defense and win the second ball. Osmanković acts as a carrier to move the ball forward, while Božičković works to intercept passes and recycle possession. On the wings, Majstorović and Čoko provide the width in the midfield, pressing in a mid-block to prevent easy service to the opposition. In the attacking phase, Miškić acts as a lone striker. He is tasked with holding up the ball to allow the midfield and wing backs to push forward. Miškić must fight against the opposition center backs to win headers or lay it off to oncoming runners. The attack relies on the movement of Grgić and Vinogradac to provide crosses from the byline. When Sloboda Tuzla transitions, they look to hit in behind the defense through quick vertical passes to Miškić.

This formation offers significant advantages in terms of defensive stability. The five defenders and four midfielders create a very narrow block that is hard to break down.
