Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Eze · Bohač · Vodera ("C") · Makky · Vadovič · Havlík · Janitor · Záhorák · Charvát · Šulák · KamonŠamorín prioritizes quick transitions and vertical play through a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup focuses on absorbing pressure before catching opponents out of position. The team relies on narrow defensive blocks and rapid movement once the ball is won to stretch the opposition.
Eze stands between the posts to command the area. The back line functions as a back three with Havlík acting as the central anchor to clear the lines and organize the unit. Vodera operates as the right centre back while Makky covers the left side of the central trio. Bohač and Vadovič act as attacking wing backs, providing the width necessary to spread the pitch. These wide defenders are tasked to push high up the pitch, while the central three stay compact to protect the zone.
The midfield is a double pivot consisting of Janitor and Záhorák. Both players must work hard to cover the space between the lines and protect the central defenders. Janitor and Záhorák look to win the second ball and immediately look to progress through the thirds. One player often drops slightly deeper to receive the ball from the defenders, while the other drives forward to connect the defense to the attacking trio. They must be ready to press in a mid-block to force a long ball from the opponent.
In the attacking third, Šamorín uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Šulák operates as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and wait for support. Kamon and Charvát play as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create goalscoring chances. The wingers stretch the defense by pulling wide before making runs in behind. This setup allows the team to attack in combinations, with the wingers looking to find the feet of the striker or receive a ball in behind on the transition.
One major advantage of this formation for Šamorín is the ability to create wide overloads when Bohač and Vadovič push forward to overlap the wingers. The team also offers great compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. This setup provides the flexibility to shift from a deep defensive block into a rapid counter at pace.
This formation is built for teams that want to defend deep and strike with speed. It is best suited for matches against dominant sides where the team needs to sit deep and exploit space on the break.
