Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Eze · Bohač · Vodera ("C") · Makky · Vadovič · Havlík · Janitor · Záhorák · Charvát · Šulák · KamonŠamorín seeks to play a direct and aggressive brand of football using a 3-3-4 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm opponents in the final third by pushing numbers forward and forcing mistakes through sheer volume of attackers. The goal is to stay vertical and punish teams on the transition by moving the ball quickly from the back to the front line.
Eze stands between the posts to anchor the defensive unit. Behind him, the back three consists of Kamon, Janitor, and Šulák. Kamon acts as the central figure to sweep behind the line while Janitor and Šulák operate as wide centre-backs. They must be prepared to step up to intercept passes or cover wide areas when the midfield is bypassed. This defensive unit works to keep the line compact to prevent through balls while ensuring they are ready to defend against long balls.
The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and creators. Záhorák, Makky, and Havlík must work together to win the second ball and recycle possession. Záhorák sits to shield the defense, while Makky and Havlík drive forward with the ball to connect the lines. They need to press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and immediately find the front four. The responsibility of the midfield is to compress the space between the defense and the attack to ensure the team stays cohesive.
In the attacking phase, Šamorín utilizes four attackers to stretch the opposition. Vodera and Charvát work as a central partnership, acting as two forwards to pin the last defender. On the flanks, Bohač and Vadovič play as wide wingers who hug the touchline to create width. This setup allows the team to attack in combinations, looking for runs in behind or cutbacks from the byline. The front line is tasked to press from the front, forcing the opposition back line into mistakes.
A major tactical advantage of this lineup is the ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the attacking third. By having four players high up the pitch, Šamorín can isolate wide players in one on one situations very effectively. Additionally, the presence of two central strikers allows them to win the second ball and play through the lines with speed. This high volume of attackers makes it very difficult for a standard back four to maintain balance.
This 3-3-4 formation relies on high intensity and a willingness to take risks in the final third. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high defensive line or those that struggle to deal with constant pressure.
