Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Eze · Bohač · Vodera ("C") · Makky · Vadovič · Havlík · Janitor · Záhorák · Charvát · Šulák · KamonŠamorín aims to control the center of the pitch and win the ball back quickly through a high press, utilizing a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to use central density to dominate the middle third and support quick transitions. The team relies on winning second balls and using vertical passing to move the ball into the final third.
Eze stands between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line consists of a back three where Charvát acts as the central defender to hold the line and command the area. Kamon plays as the left centre-back to cover the space behind the wing back, while Janitor operates as the right centre-back to handle physical challenges. This defensive unit is designed to stay compact and push up to squeeze the space when the team wins possession.
The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier to move the team forward. Bohač and Záhorák occupy the central spaces to shield the defense and pick up runners, while Makky works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by recycling possession. On the flanks, Vadovič and Vodera act as wide midfielders who provide width and track back to help the defense. This group works to compress the midfield and force a long ball from the opposition.
Šamorín uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defense. Šulák and Havlík operate as a front two, with Šulák often looking to find the feet of the striker or run in behind. They work together to press the opposition back line and create link-up play between the lines. The wide midfielders Vadovič and Vodera push forward to create overlaps, allowing the forwards to focus on runs in behind or receiving the ball in tight spaces to turn and attack.
This formation offers several tactical advantages. The central density provides numerical superiority in midfield, making it hard for opponents to play through the lines. The wide midfielders allow for quick shifts from a narrow defensive block to a wide attacking shape, creating overloads on the flanks. Additionally, the three centre-backs allow the team to maintain a high line and press from the front without being exposed to direct attacks.
The 3-5-2 formation focuses on central dominance and rapid transitions. It is best suited for games where the opponent struggles to bypass a congested middle third.
