Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Eze · Bohač · Vodera · Makky · Vadovič · Havlík · Janitor · Záhorák · Charvát · Šulák · Boledovič ("C")Šamorín aims to be a hard team to break down by using a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup focuses on defensive solidity and playing on the counter. The team is built to stay compact and force the opposition into wide areas where they can be contained.
Eze starts in goal to command the area. The back line operates as a back three with Havlík acting as the central anchor to win headers and clear the lines. Makky and Vodera play as the wide centre-backs to cover the space out wide and step up when needed. Bohač and Vadovič act as attacking wing backs to provide all the width in the formation. Bohač will overlap the winger on the right while Vadovič pushes up on the left to deliver crosses. The unit works to maintain a narrow defensive block to deny the turn of any central attackers.
The midfield consists of a double pivot with Janitor and Boledovič. Janitor plays a deeper role to shield the defence and intercept the ball. Boledovič works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward. This pair must press in a mid-block to stop the opposition from playing through the middle. They help to recycle possession and look to hit in behind the opposition on the transition.
Up front, the team uses three attackers. Šulák leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Charvát and Záhorák operate as wide wingers to stretch the defence. Charvát will look to cut inside to create space for the overlapping run from Bohač. Záhorák will use his pace to make runs in behind the defenders. The team looks to attack in combinations to catch the opposition out of position.
One major strength is the ability to create wide overloads when Bohač and Vadovič push high. The presence of Havlík, Makky, and Vodera ensures the team can hold a compact shape and defend zonally. This allows for a quick speed of transition once the ball is won in the middle of the pitch.
Šamorín relies on a solid 5-2-3 to stay organized and counter at pace. This formation is best suited for games against high pressing teams that leave space for runs in behind.
