Šamorín prefers to play with high intensity and rapid verticality. This team operates within a 5-2-3 formation. The lineup is built to press the opposition high and strike quickly when they win possession. By using this formation, the team aims to squeeze the space in the middle and use the width of the pitch to stretch the defence.

Eze stands between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit works as a back five with Havlík acting as the central man to clear the lines and win the header when crosses come in. Vodera and Makky sit as the wide centre-backs to cover the space left by the wing backs and protect the channels. Bohač and Vadovič act as attacking wing backs, tasked to push up the flank and overlap the winger. The back line will defend zonally to maintain a compact unit when sitting deep.

In the middle of the pitch, Boledovič and Janitor form a double pivot. They are tasked to protect the central zone and win the second ball to keep play moving. Boledovič will often carry the ball forward to progress through the thirds, while Janitor works to deny the pivot of the opposition and intercept passes. This pair connects the defense to the attack, making sure the team can move the ball forward quickly.

The attacking unit uses three players to pin the last defender. Šulák plays as a lone striker, looking to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Záhorák and Charvát operate as wide attackers, with Záhorák looking to cut inside and Charvát ready to hit in behind on the transition. They will try to spread wide to create space in the middle for late runs. The front three will press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

One major advantage for Šamorín is the ability to create wide overloads. With Bohač and Vadovič pushing high, they can double up on opposing wide players and create 2v1 situations. The team also benefits from the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press. This makes it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back.

This 5-2-3 formation provides a strong balance between defensive solidity and attacking width. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to catch an opponent on the break or handle a side that lacks central compactness.
