Starting Lineup

Eze · Bohač · Vodera · Makky · Vadovič · Havlík · Janitor · Záhorák · Charvát · Šulák · Boledovič ("C")

Šamorín operates with a high press and vertical style of play using a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly move it toward the strikers to catch the opposition out of position. The team seeks to control the central areas while using the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition.

Eze plays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back three consists of Charvát acting as the central defender while Vadovič and Bohač operate as the wide centre-backs. Charvát holds the line and provides stability, while Vadovič and Bohač step up to squeeze the space and cover the wide areas. This unit functions to defend zonally and ensure the team remains compact when the opposition tries to play through the middle.

The midfield features a three-man unit with a central core of Záhorák, Vodera, and Boledovič. Záhorák acts as a carrier to move the ball from deep, while Vodera and Boledovič work to control the tempo and connect the defensive and attacking lines. On the flanks, Janitor and Makky act as wide midfielders who provide the necessary width. They are tasked to track back to help the defence and push forward to support the attack, effectively turning the formation into a five-man line when out of possession.

The attacking front line relies on a two-man partnership of Šulák and Havlík. These two forwards work in combinations to break the line, with Šulák and Havlík often making runs in behind the defence to exploit gaps. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition and look to link up play with the oncoming midfielders. The team uses these two forwards to pin the last defender and create space for late runs from the midfield.

Šamorín gains a significant advantage through numerical superiority in the central midfield, which allows them to dominate possession in the middle third. The wide positioning of Janitor and Makky also creates wide overloads, making it difficult for the opposition to defend the flanks. This setup allows the team to transition from a compact defensive block to an attacking wave very quickly.

This 3-5-2 formation creates a hard to beat unit that thrives on quick transitions. It is best suited for games against teams that play a high line and leave space behind their defenders.
