Starting Lineup

To drive a high press and vertical identity, Inter uses a 3-4-3 formation. The team aims to win it back high up the pitch and move the ball forward with speed to catch the opposition. This lineup is built to spread wide and stretch the defence when attacking to create space in the middle.

The attack is led by three players across the front. Agüero acts as the lone striker and uses his movement to find space in the box. He will hold up the ball to link play with the players behind him. Hazard plays on the left as an inverted winger and uses his dribbling to cut inside and create danger. D.Silva stays wide on the right to pull defenders away and stretch the opposition. Hazard and D.Silva look to combine in tight spaces to break the line and reach the box.

This 3-4-3 formation offers Inter several tactical advantages. The presence of Alba and Carvajal allows for wide overloads when attacking the final third. The trio of Hummels, T.Silva, and Barzagli provides compactness when defending in a mid-block. The team can also press in waves to force a long ball from the opponent.
