Starting Lineup

The midfield is a three man midfield with a creative engine in the center. D.Silva acts as the attacking ten, looking to play through the lines and provide the final pass. Rakitic and Touré work in the central area to shield the defence and win the second ball. Alba and Carvajal act as wing backs, pushing high to provide width and overlap the midfielders. Such movement allows the team to transition from a mid-block to an attacking formation by spreading wide and using the full length of the pitch.

In the final third, the team utilizes two forwards in a partnership to pressure the opposition. Hazard plays as an inverted winger who cuts inside to use his dribbling and create chaos in the box. Agüero stays central as a clinical finisher, using his movement to attack the near post and far post. Both forwards work together to hold up the ball and lay it off to oncoming runners. Their combination allows the team to attack in combinations rather than relying on long balls.

One tactical strength of Inter is the ability to create numerical superiority in the middle of the park. By having three central players plus D.Silva, they can often outnumber the opposition's midfield. Another advantage comes from the wide overloads created when Alba and Carvajal push forward, forcing the opposition to track back.
