Leeds plays an aggressive style of football using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to attack quickly and put intense pressure on the opposition defense. The team looks to win the ball high up the pitch and push forward with many bodies in the final third to force mistakes.

ILLAN stays between the posts to defend the goal. The back line operates as a flat back four with JUNIOR at left back and JAYDEN at right back. PASCAL and JOE act as the central defenders to hold the line. JUNIOR and JAYDEN need to cover the wide areas when the team pushes forward. PASCAL and JOE must stay compact and win the second ball to stop quick transitions. They often play a high line to squeeze the space and keep the defensive unit close together.

The midfield consists of a double pivot with AO and JOE. These two players must work hard to protect the center of the pitch. AO and JOE are responsible for shielding the defense and recycling possession. They need to pick up runners and stop attacks before they reach the back four. When the team has the ball, one of them might drop between the center backs to help play out from the back while the other looks to carry the ball forward and connect the lines.

Up front, Leeds uses four attackers to stretch the defense. DANIEL and WILFRIE play as wide attackers on the wings. DANIEL works on the right while WILFRIE stays on the left to provide width. BRENDEN and JOËL act as a strike partnership in the center. They play as two forwards to pin the last defender and create movement. This front line is designed to press from the front and force a long ball from the opposition. They look to run in behind or play a one-two to break the line.

One major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. With four players in the front line, Leeds can win it back high up the pitch. Another advantage is the ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the attacking third. The two strikers, BRENDEN and JOËL, combined with the wide players, can easily overload the opposition defense. This allows the team to combine in tight spaces and split the defense with through balls.

This 4-2-4 formation is a high risk, high reward lineup for Leeds. It is best suited for games where the team needs to chase a result or face an opponent that struggles to play out from the back.
