Jayson and Ousmane work to win the second ball and disrupt the opposition's rhythm. On the flanks, Alex and Michael provide the width in the midfield four. Alex acts as a wide midfielder on the left, while Michael works on the right. They are responsible for tracking back to help the full backs and pressing the opposition wide players to force them into central areas. The midfield connects the defense to the strikers by recycling possession or playing direct passes.

The attack features a strike partnership of Josh and Karlan. They work as two forwards in a partnership, often looking to run in behind the defensive line. Karlan can hold up the ball to allow others to join the move, while Josh looks to make runs into the channels. The forwards press the opposition back line to force a long ball, which the defenders can then intercept. West Brom uses the width provided by Alex and Michael to deliver crosses into the box, aiming to find the strikers in goal scoring positions.

One major strength of this West Brom lineup is the compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to find gaps between the lines. The team can also create wide overloads when the full backs join the wide midfielders to pin the opposition defense. Another advantage is the ability to break quickly, utilizing the speed of the forwards to catch the opposition out of position during transitions.
