Starting Lineup

The attacking front line uses two forwards in a partnership alongside two wide players. Immobile acts as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition back line, while Musiala plays as a second striker in the hole to find pockets of space. Sane plays as an inverted winger on the right to cut inside, and Gnabry operates on the left. These four players aim to pin the last defender and create runs in behind. The goal is to use the width provided by Sane and Gnabry to deliver crosses or cutbacks into the box for Immobile and Musiala.

FC Bayern gains a significant advantage through the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The front four can trigger a press that forces the opposition to play long balls. Another strength is the speed of transition when Kimmich or De Jong win the ball and immediately find the wide players. This allows the team to exploit large spaces before the opponent can set their defensive block.
