Celta focuses on verticality and attacking intent through a 3-4-3 formation. The goal is to use wide players and wing backs to stretch the opposition and create openings in the middle. This lineup looks to win the ball high up the pitch and move the ball quickly into the final third to catch defenders out of position.

Padilla operates between the posts to start the build up. In front of him, the back three consists of Starfelt, Marcos, and Javi. Starfelt acts as the central defender to win the header and cover the space behind. Marcos and Javi provide width from a deep position, often stepping up to squeeze the space when the team presses. This three man line stays compact to deny the turn to opposition strikers and ensures the team can play out from the back effectively.

The midfield is a hard working unit that connects the defensive line to the attack. Billing and Moder form a double pivot in the center to control the tempo and protect the back three. Billing works to shield the defence and win the second ball, while Moder looks to carry the ball forward and link the play. On the flanks, Mingueza and Hugo act as wing backs, providing the width needed to stretch the defence. Mingueza pushes up to support the attack, while Hugo tracks back to help the defensive unit.

Celta utilizes three attackers to pin the last defender and create chaos. Cucho plays as a lone striker, using his movement to find space between the centre backs. He works to hold up the ball and lay it off for the runners. On the wings, Fer and Williot act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. They look to isolate a one on one wide or arrive late into the box. This attacking group presses from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

One major advantage for Celta is the ability to create wide overloads when Mingueza and Hugo push high. This forces the opposition to defend much more space. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the team can move from a mid block to an attacking position in seconds. The combination of a strong double pivot and three mobile attackers allows the team to maintain control while still being lethal on the break.

This 3-4-3 formation creates a team that is difficult to defend against in open play. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and exploit space behind a high defensive line.
