Leeds looks to dominate the ball and pin opponents back with an aggressive 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to play a high press game where the team wins it back high up the pitch to sustain constant pressure. By using such an expansive formation, Leeds aims to overwhelm the opposition through central density and wide attacking presence.

Meslier plays between the posts as the last line of defense. Behind a very high line, Rodon and Struijk act as the two central defenders. Rodon is dominant in the air and provides physical strength, while Struijk works to cover space and play out from the back. Because there are only two defenders, they must stay compact and step up to catch attackers offside, relying on quick recovery runs to handle any balls played into the channels.

The midfield unit is incredibly dense to control the center of the pitch. Tanaka acts as a single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Beside him, Bogle and Firpo occupy the central roles to drive forward with the ball and connect the lines. Rothwell operates as a left attacking midfielder to push into the half-spaces, while Aaronson plays as a right attacking midfielder to create chances. This heavy midfield presence allows the team to win the second ball and dominate possession in the middle third.

The front line consists of three attackers who stretch the defense. Solomon plays as a left winger who likes to cut inside to find shooting lanes, while Gnoto stays wide on the right to provide width. Piroe acts as the lone striker, tasked to find the feet of the striker and hold up the ball for the incoming midfielders. This attacking group works to press the opposition back line intensely, creating many runs in behind and looking for cutbacks from the byline.

This formation offers massive numerical superiority in midfield, making it very difficult for opponents to pass through the center. The wide players and attacking midfielders create many wide overloads, forcing the opposition to defend in very tight spaces. Leeds can also use the sheer number of players in the final third to create chances through quick combinations and constant pressure.
