This midfield unit must work hard to press the opposition and close down passing lanes in the middle of the pitch.

Norwich uses two strikers in a partnership to pressure the opposition back line. Roberts and Holt lead the line, often playing with a high intensity to press defenders. Holt acts as a target man to hold up the ball, allowing the wide players and midfielders to join the attack. Roberts looks to make runs in behind to stretch the defence. The team attacks in combinations, using the wide players to get to the byline and whip it in for the strikers to finish.

One major advantage for Norwich is the ability to use wide overloads when Bowen and Huckerby combine on the left. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the team can move from a mid-block to an attacking phase very quickly once the ball is won. The partnership between Holt and Roberts also allows the team to win the second ball in the final third.
