The attacking front line consists of three players. Embolo acts as a pressing centre-forward who uses his strength to hold up the ball and lay it off to his teammates. Ben Seghir plays as an inverted winger on the left and will cut inside to create chances. Akliouche occupies the right wing and can pull wide to stretch the defence. The goal is to use combinations to hit in behind the opposition or isolate a one-on-one wide situation.

One major tactical advantage for Monaco is the ability to create wide overloads through the overlapping runs of Vanderson and C.Henrique. The team also benefits from numerical superiority in the attacking third because Minamino can move between the lines.
