Starting Lineup

Armani · Lomonaco · Pezze · Gomez · Villagra · Enzo · Acuña · Tucu · Driussi · Meza · Colidio

River focuses on high pressing and rapid verticality using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly before the opponent can settle. The goal is to use constant movement to stretch the opposition and create chances through sudden bursts of speed in the final third.

Armani guards the goal as the last line of defense. In front of him, the back three consists of Pezze, Lomonaco, and Gomez. Pezze acts as a central anchor while Lomonaco and Gomez provide cover on the flanks. These defenders operate in a narrow defensive block to prevent central penetration, ensuring they stay compact to win the second ball. When the team pushes forward, these three must hold the line to stop any long balls played into the channels.

The midfield operates with a double pivot of Villagra and Enzo. Villagra works to shield the defense and intercept passes, while Enzo has the freedom to carry the ball forward and link the defense to the attack. Ahead of them, Acuña and Tucu operate in the half spaces as attacking midfielders. Acuña looks to find pockets of space to create, whereas Tucu drives into areas to pull defenders out of position. This unit works to compress the midfield and win it back high up the pitch.

Up front, River employs three attackers to pin the last defender. Driussi acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Meza and Colidio play as wide attackers, with Meza hugging the touchline to provide width and Colidio cutting inside to threaten the box. This front three presses from the front to force a long ball from the opponent. They use quick combinations to split the defense with through balls and create runs in behind.

One major advantage for River is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing opponents into mistakes. The formation also allows for wide overloads when Acuña and Meza push up to support the attack. This creates numerical superiority in the final third, making it difficult for a back four to track all the runners.

This 3-4-3 formation relies on intense pressing and quick transitions to dominate games. It is best suited for facing opponents who struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
