Otis and Samad act as wide wingers who want to cut inside to create shooting lanes. These players often look to play one-two combinations with Mckael to break the line. When the team wins the ball, Otis and Samad push high to isolate a one on one wide.

A major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. Because Otis, Samad, and Mckael pressure the ball, the midfield of Etzaz, Rahis, and Adil can squeeze the space. Mexico also finds success through wide overloads when Rao or Fazal overlap the winger. This creates extra passing lanes to help the team progress through the thirds.
