DIAZ · BARRAGAN · CHAPARRO · BORGO · DIAZ · ALVAREZ · ALEGRE · RODRIGUEZ · BENITTI · LOPEZ · GONZALEZ

Talleres aims to play a high intensity and vertical style of football using a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup seeks to win the ball back high up the pitch and move forward with pace to attack the opposition quickly. The goal is to control the central areas and use aggressive pressing to disrupt the opponent.

DIAZ stands in goal to organize the defensive unit. The back three features BARRAGAN, CHAPARRO, and BORGO. BARRAGAN and BORGO act as the wide centre-backs who can step up to support the midfield or cover the wide areas. CHAPARRO holds the center of the line to win the header and clear the lines during periods of heavy pressure. This defensive unit works to stay compact and defend zonally to prevent the opponent from playing through the lines.

The midfield is composed of a five man block. DIAZ and ALVAREZ operate as a double pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. BENITTI and ALEGRE function as two central midfielders who drive forward with the ball to link the defensive and attacking lines. RODRIGUEZ plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to operate in the spaces between the lines and find the feet of the striker. This group works to compress the midfield and pick up runners in the central zone.

In the attacking phase, Talleres utilizes a partnership of two forwards with LOPEZ and GONZALEZ leading the way. These two work to combine in tight spaces and often look to run in behind the last defender. They can also pull wide to create width, allowing the midfielders to arrive late into the box. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball and win the second ball, creating chances for the midfield to attack.

A major tactical advantage is the numerical superiority in midfield which allows the team to control the tempo of the game. The positioning of RODRIGUEZ creates a threat in the half spaces and helps to split the defence with a through ball. Additionally, the defensive unit provides great compactness when defending in a mid-block, making it difficult for the opposition to find space.

The 3-5-2 lineup provides a balanced way to transition from a compact defence to a lethal attack. This formation is best suited for games against teams that try to play out from the back.
