The MCO operates in the hole as an attacking ten, looking to find pockets of space between the lines to create chances. This unit works to squeeze the space and ensure the team stays compact when they do not have the ball.

The attacking front three provides immense width and central threat. The winger EI plays on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside and create scoring opportunities, while ED operates on the right to stretch the defense. Kylian Mbappé, if he were the striker, would lead the line, but here the DC acts as the focal point to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. This front line is designed to press from the front, forcing long balls from the opposition and winning the second ball to maintain attacking momentum.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, particularly through the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The five man midfield allows for numerical superiority in the center, making it difficult for opponents to play through the lines. Furthermore, the wide players EI and ED can isolate wide defenders in one on one situations, creating constant danger on the flanks.
