Werner works between the posts to command the area and clear the lines. The back line functions as a back five to keep the team compact. Martínez stays in the center as a ball playing defender to sweep behind the line. Raffin plays as the right centre back to cover the space and win the second ball. Quintana acts as the left centre back to help defend zonally. Ocampo works as the right wing back to provide width and track back. Cardozo (r) plays as the left wing back to push high and support the wide areas.

The midfield uses a double pivot with Segovia and Gómez. Segovia works to shield the defence and intercept passes to win it back. Gómez is tasked to carry the ball forward and connect the defensive and attacking lines. These two players must press in a mid-block to squeeze the space and prevent the opponent from playing through the lines. They work to recycle possession and find the feet of the striker when the team transitions.

The attacking line uses three players across the front to stretch the defence. Ponce (r) leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. Lovera plays on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside and create space. Solari (r) stays wide on the right to pull the defenders away. The team looks to hit in behind on the transition with quick runs in behind. When the team regains possession, Ocampo and Cardozo (r) push high to overlap the winger and deliver early.

A key tactical strength is the ability to maintain a narrow defensive block to deny the turn of opposition players. This compactness makes it hard to play through the middle.
