The team aims to be defensively solid and play a vertical game, using a 4-4-2 formation. Mallorca looks to win the ball and move quickly into the attacking third to catch the opposition out of position.

Dominic Greif stays in goal to command the area. The defense works in a flat back four. Maffeo plays as the right back to push up and overlap the winger, while Mojica acts as the left back to provide width. Valjent and Copete form the central pairing, with Valjent acting as a ball playing defender to distribute play. Copete is dominant in the air and works to clear the lines when the ball is sent into the box.

The midfield relies on a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. Antonio Sánchez and Sergi Darder sit in front of the defense to shield the back four. Darder works to create from deep and recycle possession to keep the team organized. Moving higher, Manu Morlanes and Omar Mascarell occupy the half-spaces to link the lines. Morlanes and Mascarell look to carry the ball forward and arrive late into the box to support the strikers.

Mallorca utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition. Vedad Muriqi acts as a target man who can hold up the ball and win the header. He uses his strength to lay it off to his partner. Cyle Larin plays as a second striker, looking to run in behind the defense or play a one-two to break the line. The attacking unit will press from the front to force a long ball, allowing the defenders to win the second ball.

One major advantage is the ability to press in a mid-block and squeeze the space in the center. Mallorca also creates wide overloads when Maffeo and Mojica move up to support the attack. This allows the team to spread wide and whip it in toward Muriqi. The speed of transition is a key strength, as the team looks to hit in behind on the transition as soon as they win it back high up the pitch.

Mallorca uses this 4-4-2 to remain compact and difficult to break down. This formation is best suited for facing possession based teams that leave space behind their midfield.
