Starting Lineup

Ersin · X · X (Necip) · Emirhan · X · Salih · X · X · Semih · X (Hekimoğlu) · Rashica

Besiktas aims to control games through a high press and quick transitions in a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and use aggressive movement to stretch the opposition defence. The tactical intent is to create constant pressure in the final third while maintaining enough bodies to catch opponents on the break.

Ersin guards the goal as the starting goalkeeper. In front of him, the back four operates as a coordinated unit to protect the central areas. Emirhan plays as the left centre-back, providing cover and looking to step up when the team plays out from the back. Necip operates as the right centre-back, using his experience to defend zonally and organize the line. The full backs need to balance their duties by tucking in to support the centre-backs and providing width when the team carries the ball forward.

The midfield functions with a strong central presence to control the tempo. Salih acts as the left central midfielder, looking to connect the defensive and attacking lines with his passing range. The remaining midfielders must work to compress the midfield and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines. One player will likely act as a carrier to drive the ball forward, while another seeks to arrive late into the box to support the attack. This three man midfield must work in pairs to press in a mid-block and win the second ball.

Besiktas utilizes three attackers to pin the last defender and create scoring chances. Semih plays on the left wing as an inverted winger who looks to cut inside and threaten the goal. Rashica occupies the right wing, providing width and looking to whip it in or deliver early balls into the box. Hekimoğlu leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, tasked with holding up the ball and making runs in behind the defence. The front three combine to create overloads, using quick one-twos to bypass the opposition's defensive block.

The primary tactical advantages for Besiktas involve the ability to press high in coordinated waves and create wide overloads. By using the movement of the wingers and the overlapping runs of the full backs, the team can isolate wide players in one on one situations. This formation also offers speed of transition, allowing the players to hit in behind on the transition once the ball is won high up the pitch.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high intensity and verticality to break down opponents. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and force the opposition into mistakes.
