Nashville relies on a high press and quick transitions within a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to control the central areas of the pitch while using a heavy midfield presence to win the ball back high up the pitch. The team seeks to disrupt the opposition build up play and launch direct attacks once the ball is regained.

Bot acts as the goalkeeper to organize the defensive unit. The back line consists of a back three featuring Bot, Drew, and Bot. These central defenders must defend zonally and remain compact to deny the turn to oncoming attackers. The defenders are tasked to hold the line and clear the lines when under pressure, ensuring they do not get caught too high when the team pushes forward.

The midfield is a crowded five man unit designed to squeeze the space. Jason and DJ act as a double pivot to shield the defence, while Mike provides support in the center to recycle possession. Benny and Prince operate in the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This central block is meant to compress the midfield and make it difficult for the opponent to play through the lines.

Nashville utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. Abdisito and Abdul work together to press the opposition back line from the front. Abdul often looks to hold up the ball to allow Abdisito to make runs in behind. The team builds the attack by playing short from the back or through the midfield, looking to find the feet of the striker or deliver early crosses into the box.

One major advantage of this Nashville formation is the numerical superiority in midfield which allows them to win the second ball frequently. The team can also switch play quickly to isolate wide players in one on one situations once the central block has drawn the opposition in. This makes them very hard to play through in a mid block.

This 3-5-2 formation is a heavy pressing system designed to dominate the central third. It is best suited for matches against teams that try to build play through the middle of the pitch.
