Starting Lineup

Radnicki focuses on a vertical style of play to catch opponents off guard, utilizing a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup aims to control the central areas of the pitch and use high numbers in the middle to drive the ball forward quickly. By packing the center, the team looks to win the ball and immediately look for ways to hit the opposition in behind.

Nikolić stays between the posts to oversee the defense. The back line consists of a pair of central defenders, Mašović and Veljković, who must stay alert to any direct runs. Mašović and Veljković operate as a narrow defensive block, often needing to step up to squeeze the space when the team presses. They must be ready to cover for each other and clear the lines if the high line is breached.

The midfield is the engine of the Radnicki side, using a five man unit to dominate the pitch. Boranijašević and Đorđević act as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. Pejović and Milivojević operate in the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while Luka Ilić plays as an attacking ten behind the striker. Luka Ilić works to find pockets of space to play through the lines and find the forwards.

The attacking unit features three players across the front to stretch the defense. Pešić acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. On the flanks, Mitrović and Radonjić play as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create goalscoring chances. This front three works to press from the front, forcing the opposition to play long balls. The team uses combinations in transition to move the ball from the midfield to the wingers quickly.

This formation offers significant numerical superiority in midfield, making it hard for opponents to pass through the center. The presence of five players in the middle allows the team to press in a mid-block and win the ball back high up the pitch. Furthermore, the width provided by Mitrović and Radonjić helps to stretch the defense and create space for late runs into the box from the central midfielders.

Radnicki relies on a crowded midfield to control the tempo and transition into a rapid attack. This 2-5-3 formation is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and squeeze the opposition in their own half.
