The attacking front line is incredibly heavy with four players. Lato and Boniek act as wide wingers, with Boniek often looking to cut inside to create goal scoring opportunities. Lewandowski and Lubanski play as a central partnership, with Lewandowski acting as the focal point to hold up the ball and link with the midfielders. This front four is designed to press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. They use runs in behind and quick combinations to split the defence with a through ball.

Poland can create wide overloads when the wingers and full backs work together to pull wide. The presence of Lewandowski and Lubanski allows the team to maintain a strong central presence, making it hard for opponents to defend the box.
