Starting Lineup

The midfield is composed of a double pivot featuring BARREIRA and RICCI. These two players must protect the center of the pitch and shield the defence from direct attacks. RICCI works to carry the ball forward through the middle, while BARREIRA stays deeper to intercept play and recycle possession. This pair is responsible for connecting the defenders to the front four and making sure the team maintains control.

The attack uses four players across the front to stretch the defence. STOFFELS plays on the left wing while PEDRI operates on the right, with PEDRI using his vision to find pockets of space. CARROLL and ENDRICK lead the line as a strike partnership. While CARROLL works to hold up the ball and link up play with the midfielders, ENDRICK uses his explosive pace to hit in behind the defenders. The team uses these forwards to press from the front and force long balls from the opposition.

This formation offers several tactical advantages, particularly in the attacking phase. The team can create wide overloads as the wingers pull defenders away from the center to create space. There is also a great ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the four attackers to squeeze the space in the opposition half.
