Armani operates as the goalkeeper within a back five defensive unit. The center of the defense features M. Quarta and Pezzella who work as ball playing defenders to help play out from the back. Villagra or REFUERZO act as the third central defender to provide cover and win the second ball. Acuña plays as an attacking wing back on the left to provide width, while Montiel or Bustos occupy the right side to help the defense and push up the flank.

The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier to move the ball forward. REFUERFO or Simon occupies the right central midfield role to drive forward with the ball and connect the lines. Matias Rojas works on the left to help control the tempo and win the ball back in a mid block. Leo Fernandez plays as an attacking ten behind the two strikers, operating in the hole to find pockets of space and deliver passes to the front line.

River uses two forwards in a partnership to pressure the opposition back line. REFUERZO or Colidio can play as the striker to hold up the ball or make runs in behind. The attack is designed to create combinations in tight spaces, with the forwards often pulling wide to stretch the defense or dropping deep to link up with Leo Fernandez. The movement of the two attackers is intended to pin the last defender and create space for late runs from the midfield.

The back five makes it very difficult for opponents to find gaps in the central area.
