On either side, Alex and Rosie work to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Alex and Rosie press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and drive forward with the ball to break the lines. This trio must work to compress the midfield and prevent opponents from playing through the middle.

The attack is built around four players to stretch the defense. Toby and Damien operate as a partnership in the center, with Toby acting as a target man to hold up the ball while Damien looks to make runs in behind. Kian and Charlie occupy the wide areas as wingers who hug the touchline to create width. Kian and Charlie look to isolate wide players in one on one situations or whip it in for the central strikers. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

England gains a significant advantage by creating wide overloads when the wingers and midfielders combine. The presence of four attackers makes it difficult for a standard back four to defend against the constant verticality. This formation also allows the team to press high in coordinated waves, making it hard for opponents to build out from the back.
