Sport relies on a heavy verticality to overwhelm opponents, using a 2-4-4 formation. This lineup is built to play with extreme aggression in the final third, looking to hit the opposition quickly before they can settle. The goal is to maintain a constant presence in the attacking half, using numbers to push the play forward as fast as possible.

In goal, the goalkeeper holds the last line of defense. The defensive unit relies on a back two consisting of MENA and EDCARLOS, who must act as ball playing center backs to initiate play. Because there are only two defenders, they often play a high line to squeeze the space and minimize the distance to the midfield. MENA and EDCARLOS need to be dominant in the air to defend long balls and must be ready to step up to catch opponents offside. This defensive unit functions by staying compact and trusting the midfield to help cover the wide areas.

The midfield functions as the engine of Sport, working in a way that connects the defense to the front line. DIOGO BARBOSA or PATRIC sits in a single pivot role to shield the two defenders and recycle possession. Ahead of them, EVANILSON or CICINHO operates as a left central midfielder, while CLEBER SANTANA plays as the right central midfielder to control the tempo. SANDRO GOIANO acts as an attacking ten, operating in the pocket to find ways to play through the lines. This four man midfield group works to win the ball high up the pitch and drive forward with the ball to support the attack.

The attacking unit is designed to pin the last defender and create chaos. The team uses two central forwards, with JUNINHO or HUGO paired alongside MARCELINHO to provide a central presence. On the flanks, MARK GONZALEZ or LOVE plays as an inverted winger on the left, while CARLINHOS BALA or BAIER operates on the right. These wide players often cut inside to create overloads in the middle, allowing for runs in behind or cutbacks from the byline. The front four aim to press from the front, forcing a long ball and winning the second ball to keep the pressure on.

This formation offers the advantage of massive numerical superiority in the attacking third. By using a four man midfield and a four man attack, Sport can create wide overloads and isolate wide players in one on one situations very effectively. The ability to press in coordinated waves makes it difficult for teams to play out from the back.

Sport uses this high risk lineup to force opponents into mistakes through constant pressure. It is best suited for games where the team needs to chase a result against a side that sits deep.
