Starting Lineup

Slovan Liberec aims to play with a heavy high press and quick transitions using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball back high up the pitch and using wide players to stretch the opposition. The team looks to create numbers in the attacking third to overwhelm the defensive line through rapid movement.

Koubek sits between the posts to command his area and organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a back three consisting of Mikula, Knapik, and Plechaty. Mikula plays as the left centre-back, while Knapik acts as the central defender to win headers and clear the lines. Plechaty covers the right side of the central trio. This three man block stays compact to prevent through balls and forces the opposition to play wide.

The midfield functions with a central pairing of Varfolomejev and Eneme. Varfolomejev works to connect the defence and attack, while Eneme helps to win the second ball in the middle of the pitch. On the flanks, Masopust and Kayondo act as wide midfielders to provide width. Masopust pushes up the left channel to support the winger, while Kayondo provides the width on the right. This midfield group works to squeeze the space and intercept passes before the opponent can build play.

Slovan Liberec uses three attackers to pin the last defender and create chances. Fila operates as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line and hold up the ball. Višinsky plays on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside and find space in the half spaces. Hlavaty occupies the right wing to stretch the defence and deliver crosses. These attackers work in combinations to create runs in behind or allow for quick one twos near the box.

A major advantage of this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opponent. The team can also create wide overloads when Masopust and Višinsky push forward together. This formation provides speed of transition, allowing the players to break quickly once the ball is won.

This 3-4-3 formation is built to dominate games through aggressive pressing and wide play. It is best suited for facing teams that struggle to play out from the back under intense pressure.
