Starting Lineup

Internacional focuses on a vertical style of play using a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball in the central areas and move it quickly to the front line. The team looks to control the tempo and use the wide players to stretch the opposition.

CLEMER guards the goal and organizes the back line. The defense operates with a back three, using ÍNDIO as the central figure to hold the line and win headers. W. MONTEIRO plays as the right centre back to cover the wide area and track back when needed, while F. ELLER acts as the left centre back to sweep behind the high line. This unit works to stay compact and defend zonally to deny the turn to the opposition attackers.

The midfield uses a three-man central unit with two wider players. R. CARDOSO and CEARÁ form a double pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes. EDINHO sits ahead of them to connect the defensive and attacking lines, often carrying the ball forward to break the line. On the flanks, ALEX and FERNANDÃO act as wide midfielders who help the defense and provide width. FERNANDÃO uses his passing range to switch play and find teammates in advanced positions. This group works to squeeze the space in the middle and press in a mid-block.

Internacional employs two forwards in a partnership to attack the defense. PATO and IARLEY work together to press from the front and force a long ball. PATO uses his pace and dribbling style to run in behind and isolate defenders in one on one situations. The attack is built through the middle or via the wide areas where ALEX and FERNANDÃO look to whip it in or cut it back.
