Starting Lineup

Dinamo looks to play a high pressing and vertical game using a 4-2-4. This formation focuses on attacking the opposition with many players high up the pitch to win the ball back quickly and maintain heavy pressure. It is built to overwhelm opponents through constant movement and rapid attacks.

Livakovic stands between the posts to guard the goal. The back line works as a flat back four with Corluka at right back and Cufre at left back. J.Sutalo and Biscan play as the two centre backs, where J.Sutalo acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back. The defensive unit must stay compact to deny the turn of attackers and Biscan must cover the space behind when the full backs push up.

A double pivot controls the middle of the pitch with Olmo and Modric. Modric uses his incredible passing range and vision to control the tempo and distribute the ball to the attackers. Olmo uses his dribbling to carry the ball forward and connect the defense to the front four. These two must work to shield the defense and pick up runners that move from deep.

The attacking lineup features four players who stretch the defense. Bosnjak and Orsic act as wide wingers, with Orsic looking to cut inside and Bosnjak spreading the width. Petkovic and Eduardo operate as a partnership in the center. Petkovic can hold up the ball to allow others to arrive late into the box, while Eduardo looks to find spaces to hit in behind on the transition. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

This formation offers massive attacking presence and allows for immediate pressure when possession is lost. Dinamo can create wide overloads if Corluka and Cufre overlap the wingers to pin the last defender. The team also benefits from the speed of transition, as the four attackers are already positioned to break the line quickly. This creates constant pressure on the opponent's back line.

The 4-2-4 formation is a high risk, high reward system centered on relentless attacking pressure. It is best suited for games where Dinamo needs to break down a low block through sheer numbers and intensity.
