Zakaria and Camara act as the engines, with Zakaria using his pressing intensity to win the second ball and Camara linking the defensive and attacking lines. Golovin plays as an attacking ten in the hole, looking to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to create chances.

The front line features three attackers who move in unison to pressure the opposition back line. Biereth acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and win headers. On the flanks, Akliouche and Minamino play as wide wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. This movement forces the opposition to defend in tight spaces and creates frequent opportunities for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

Monaco gains a significant advantage through numerical superiority in midfield, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. The wide positions of Akliouche and Minamino allow for quick transitions when the team switches play.
