Starting Lineup

Focusing on high intensity and rapid transitions, Dinamo operates with a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup aims to control the central areas while using energetic runners to stretch the opposition. The team looks to win the ball in the middle third and move quickly toward the goal, making it a very vertical system.

Ladić guards the goal, acting as the last line of defense. Ahead of him, the back three consists of Ćorluka, Goran Jurić, and KTC. Ćorluka provides experience to lead the line and cover space, while Goran Jurić and KTC focus on winning headers and clearing the lines. This unit tends to hold a relatively high line to squeeze the space between the defense and midfield. They work together to defend zonally, ensuring the gaps between the three central defenders remain small when the team drops into a mid-block.

The midfield functions as the engine of this Dinamo side. Ademi sits in the single pivot role to shield the defense and recycle possession. Beside him, Mujčin and S.Marić operate as central midfielders who drive forward with the ball and connect the defensive unit to the attack. Oršić and Olmo push further up as attacking midfielders in the half-spaces, acting as the creative links. Oršić uses his pace to push high and press from the front, while Olmo looks to receive on the half-turn and play through the lines.

In the attacking third, the team utilizes two forwards in a partnership. Petković plays as a pressing centre-forward to bother the opposition back line, while Viduka works as a striker to link up play between the lines. The attack is built through quick combinations in the middle, with Oršić and Olmo making runs to support the two strikers. This movement creates space for Petković to find the feet of the striker or for Viduka to make runs in behind. The team uses the width provided by the advanced midfielders to pull the opposition defense apart.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The presence of three central defenders provides compactness when defending against crosses. Additionally, the use of Oršić and Olmo in the half-spaces allows the team to create numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch. This setup also enables the team to transition quickly, catching opponents out of position as they move from defense to attack.
