Fenerbahçe aims to control the middle of the pitch through a compact and disciplined 4-5-1. This formation is built to play a high press while maintaining enough bodies in the central areas to prevent opponents from playing through the lines. The team looks to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly move it into the final third.

Livakovic acts as the last line of defense, commanding his area to sweep behind the back line when needed. The defense operates as a flat back four, with Osayi playing as an attacking full back to provide width on the right. On the left, Transfer is tasked with balancing defensive duties with the urge to push up the flank. Djiku and the other Transfer in central defense work as a pair, with Djiku using his aerial strength to win headers and the other defender acting as a covering presence to pick up runners.

In the center, a double pivot consisting of Amrabat and İsmail provides a shield for the back four. Amrabat is a tireless worker who presses aggressively to win the ball, while İsmail sits slightly deeper to protect the zone in front of the defense. Ahead of them, Tadic operates in the half spaces, using his vision and passing range to connect the midfield to the attack. Oğuz provides additional engine room work in the midfield, while Talisca plays as an attacking ten to find pockets of space. This midfield unit is designed to recycle possession and quickly switch play to the flanks.

The attacking phase relies heavily on En Nesyri acting as a pressing centre-forward. He works to pin the last defender and create space for the midfielders to arrive late into the box. While the team maintains a narrow central presence, the wingers and full backs are expected to provide the necessary width to stretch the defence. The movement is built around combinations between Talisca and En Nesyri to create chances in transition.

One major advantage for Fenerbahçe is the numerical superiority in midfield, which makes it difficult for opponents to find passing lanes. The lineup also offers the ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing the opposition into mistakes. By using Talisca as a link, the team can isolate wide players in one on one situations once the ball reaches the flanks.

This 4-5-1 formation provides a balanced way to dominate central areas while remaining hard to break down. It is best suited for games against teams that like to build from the back and struggle against intense pressing.
