Starting Lineup

Wudda24 · Ruqi · Skyz · Flo · Breezo · SlimJim · RajG · Shogunso · Hoshi · Cayzz (Void) · tnn (RGMY)

Andorra plays with a clear intent to sit deep and strike on the counter with a 4-4-2. This lineup is built to maintain a compact defensive block and wait for the right moment to hit teams in behind. The team looks to deny space between the lines and force the opposition to play wide.

Skyz operates in goal to organize the defensive unit. The back line stays as a flat back four where SlimJim and Breezo act as the central defenders. SlimJim works to win the header and Breezo stays to cover the space if a teammate steps up. RajG and Shogunso play as the wide defenders to mark the opposition wingers and prevent crosses. The unit works together to hold the line and protect the central areas.

In the middle of the pitch, the midfield works as a bank of four to squeeze the space. Hoshi sits as a single pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. tnn and Cayzz play in the central areas to press the opposition and pick up runners. Flo connects the defence and the attack by moving into the half spaces to receive the ball and recycle possession. This group helps to compress the midfield and cut off the passing lane to the strikers.

The attack features two forwards working together to lead the press from the front. Wudda24 and Ruqi act as a partnership to stretch the defence and make runs in behind. They look to hold up the ball and lay it off to oncoming runners. When Andorra wins the ball high up the pitch, the forwards push forward to break quickly. The goal is to use combinations to move the ball through the thirds and create chances in transition.

A key strength of this formation is the ability to stay compact when defending in a mid-block. This makes it very difficult for opponents to find gaps to play through. Additionally, the team uses the speed of transition to exploit spaces left by attacking opponents. By catching teams out of position, Andorra can move from a deep block to a direct attack in seconds.

This 4-4-2 formation relies on a disciplined defensive block to frustrate the opposition. It is most effective when playing against teams that dominate possession and leave space behind their back line.
