Starting Lineup

Rosario Central aims to play a direct and high tempo game through a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to stretch the opposition with a heavy focus on attacking numbers and verticality. By committing many players forward, the team looks to overwhelm the opponent in the final third and create immediate goal-scoring chances.

Broun guards the goal as the lone man in the defensive unit. The back line works as a flat back four with Coronel and Sandez occupying the full back roles. Coronel provides stability on the right while Sandez acts as a left back to support the width. In the center, Giménez and Quintana form the defensive core, where they must maintain a high line to keep the team compact. Giménez and Quintana need to be ready to cover space behind the defenders if the team wins the ball high up the pitch.

The midfield consists of a double pivot designed to control the central area. O'Connor and Ibarra sit in front of the defense to shield the back four. Ibarra works to win the second ball and intercept passes, while O'Connor looks to carry the ball forward to connect the defense to the attack. This pair must remain disciplined to prevent the opposition from counter attacking through the middle. They act as the engine room for Rosario Central, recycling possession to find the forwards.

The attacking unit utilizes two forwards in a partnership alongside two wide players. Ferreira and Malcorra act as the central strikers, where Ferreira works to find the feet of the striker and Malcorra looks to make runs in behind. Campaz and Duarte provide width on the flanks. Campaz operates as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside, while Duarte stays wide on the right to stretch the defence. This front four is designed to attack in combinations, using quick movements to split the defence with a through ball.

This formation offers several tactical advantages, most notably the ability to create wide overloads when the full backs push up. The team can also use its numerical superiority in the final third to overwhelm the opposition's back line.
