Mikić and Marchich function as attacking wing backs who provide width during the build up, but they must drop back to maintain their defensive positions when the team is out of possession.

The midfield works with a double pivot to shield the defence. Vrbančić and Stojković sit in front of the defenders to intercept passes and win the second ball. They connect the defensive and attacking lines by recycling possession and playing short from the back to progress through the thirds. In the pockets ahead, Belinho and Ivanušec operate to support the forward. Ivanušec uses his passing range to break the line, while Belinho looks to carry the ball forward and find the feet of the striker.

The attack is led by a lone striker, Kanga, who serves as a target man to hold up the ball. Kanga works to pin the last defender and lay it off to the incoming runners. Belinho and Ivanušec act as the supporting attackers who move between the lines to find space. Mikić and Marchich provide width by pushing high to get to the byline and whip it in. The team seeks to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition defence out of position as they move forward.

A major advantage for Dinamo is the defensive compactness offered by the back five. This makes it very difficult for opponents to find gaps or play through the lines. The team also utilizes the speed of transition to exploit space. By using Mikić and Marchich to overlap the winger, they can create quick wide overloads during a counter attack to stretch the defence.
