In the final third, Alberto operates as a lone striker. He must hold up the ball to allow the attacking midfielders to arrive late into the box. The attack relies on combinations in tight spaces rather than wide play, as there are no wingers to stretch the defense. Elano and Robinho look to play through the lines to find Alberto or make runs into the area. The offensive movement is designed to pull defenders out of position through central congestion.
