Elversberg Football Formation
Starting Lineup
wudda · xoruu · flo · cayzz · ruqi · slimjim · breezo · Melon · RajG · shogunso · HoshiElversberg aims to control the middle of the pitch through a compact 4-5-1 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the second ball and playing through the thirds to create chances. The team works to squeeze the space in the center, making it difficult for the opposition to find passing lanes.
Melon stays between the posts to command the area. The back four consists of RajG at right back and shogunso at left back, while breezo and slimjim operate as the central defenders. RajG and shogunso provide width by pushing up to overlap the midfield, whereas breezo and slimjim act as the ball playing defenders to play short from the back. The defensive unit works as a single block to hold the line and protect the center.
The midfield uses a five man unit to control the game. Hoshi plays as the single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. To his side, flo and xoruu operate as the central duo to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Cayzz and ruqi occupy the half spaces as attacking midfielders who press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch. This group works to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposing players.
Wudda leads the line as a lone striker. The attacking movement relies on cayzz and ruqi to arrive late into the box to support him. Wudda works to hold up the ball and find the feet of the striker for others to join. The wide players, cayzz and ruqi, move into the channels to stretch the defence, while the team looks to hit in behind on the transition. All players press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.
Elversberg finds success through numerical superiority in midfield. The five man unit allows them to win the second ball and quickly switch play. They also use the ability to press high in coordinated waves to disrupt the opponent. This makes the team very hard to play through in the central areas.
This 4-5-1 formation relies on a hardworking midfield to dominate possession. It is a lineup best suited for games against teams that want to play open football.
