Colman and Escamilla operate as the two central midfielders to connect the lines and carry the ball forward. Escamilla looks to arrive late into the box to add an extra threat, while Colman helps to press in a mid-block to win the second ball. This trio works to control the center of the pitch and ensure the team can transition from defense to attack quickly.

Querétaro utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the opposition. Bogarin operates as a pressing centre-forward to harass the defenders and hold up the ball for others. On the wings, Titi and Preciado act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to pull the opposing full backs apart. Titi looks to cut inside to create chances, while Preciado provides width to deliver crosses. The forwards press from the front to trigger a press and force a long ball from the opponent.
