Abde plays as an inverted winger on the left, looking to cut inside and create chances, while Fornals stays wide on the right to whip it in or find the feet of the strikers. The forwards are expected to press from the front, forcing a long ball from the opposition defence and working in combinations to break the line.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, particularly in terms of numerical superiority in the final third. By having four players close to the goal, Real Betis can create overloads that overwhelm a standard back four. Another strength is the ability to press in coordinated waves, with the front four triggering the press and the midfield following closely to squeeze the space.
