JEFFERSON/KINGSON starts in goal to guard the net. The defensive unit sits very high with a back two consisting of FERNANDO and JEDINAK. Because there are only two defenders, FERNANDO and JEDINAK must hold the line and manage space carefully to prevent runners from getting behind them. The midfield is packed with five players to create a heavy presence in the center of the pitch. Anton Ferdinand plays as a deep lying playmaker in the LDM role to help build out from the back. TOWNSED acts as a defensive shield to protect the two central defenders. In the middle, Sandro and Sahin operate as dual eight roles to connect the defensive and attacking lines. menez/Guilherme plays as an attacking ten behind the front three, looking to find pockets of space and play through the lines to ignite the offense.

The attacking unit employs three forwards to stretch the opposition. BAROS/Luiz Adriano leads the line as a physical striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. On the flanks, Podolski/NASRI and ETO'O/SAM act as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create goal scoring chances. These attackers must press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. The movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

Antalyaspor gains a massive advantage through numerical superiority in the midfield, making it difficult for opponents to play through the center.
