Starting Lineup

SHAWN · MWAKAI · SEAN (AXEL) · PAUL · BRANDON · JIMMY · SAUSI · TRAVIS · KAYDEN · ZANI · ETHAN

Liverpool focuses on a high press to win the ball high up the pitch, utilizing a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup aims to squeeze the space in the opponent half and use quick transitions to catch the opposition out of position. The team is built to play with high intensity, looking to disrupt the build up play of the opponent from the very first whistle.

In goal, SHAWN acts as the last line of defense. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with PAUL at right back and MWAKAI at left back. Paul and Mwakai are expected to push up the pitch to provide width. In the center, ETHAN and SEAN form the defensive pairing, with ETHAN acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks. SEAN provides cover and works to win the second ball when the high press fails. The defensive line often sits high to maintain compactness.

The midfield operates with a three-man midfield with a carrier to control the center. SAUSI sits in the middle to shield the defense and recycle possession, while BRANDON and JIMMY play as inverted eights. BRANDON works to connect the defensive and attacking lines, often making late runs into the box to support the front three. JIMMY carries the ball forward to drive the team into the final third. This unit works together to compress the midfield and deny the opponent time on the ball.

Liverpool uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. TRAVIS acts as a pressing centre-forward, leading the line and trying to pin the last defender. On the flanks, KAYDEN plays as a wide winger who hugs the touchline to create maximum width, while ZANI works as an inverted winger who looks to cut inside and find space in the half spaces. The forwards work in combinations to create runs in behind or to deliver early crosses into the box.

One major advantage for Liverpool is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, which can force a long ball from the opponent. The formation also allows for wide overloads when PAUL and ZANI combine on the right. This creates many one on one situations for the wingers. The speed of transition when the midfield wins the ball back is a constant threat.

This 4-3-3 formation is a heavy metal way to play that relies on intense physical output. It is best suited for games where Liverpool can overwhelm the opponent through high pressure and quick vertical movement.
