Starting Lineup

SHAWN · PAUL · SEAN (AXEL) · MWAKAI · ETHAN · SAUSI · WAITHANJI · KABIRU · ZANI · KAYDEN · TRAVIS

Liverpool looks to dominate games through a high press and aggressive verticality in a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup aims to squeeze the pitch and win the ball high up the pitch to catch the opposition out of position. The goal is to force errors in the middle third and transition into attack with extreme speed.

Shawn sits between the posts to act as the first line of build up. The defensive unit operates with a back three consisting of Paul, Sean, and Ethan. Paul and Sean act as wide centre backs who must be ready to cover the wide areas when the team pushes up. Ethan sits centrally to command the area and win the header when long balls come. This back three must be ready to step up to set the offside trap and keep the defensive line compact.

The midfield engine consists of a three man midfield with a carrier and two players working in the half spaces. Mwakai sits deep to shield the defence and recycle possession when the team needs to slow the tempo. Kabir and Sausi operate as the more advanced central midfielders who drive forward with the ball to break the line. Waithanji plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to find the feet of the striker and connect the midfield to the front line.

Liverpool utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Zani and Kayden act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to pull the opposition full backs away from the centre. Travis leads the line as a pressing centre forward to force a long ball and pin the last defender. The movement of the front three relies on Kayden and Zani cutting inside to create space for the midfield to arrive late into the box.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Liverpool. The presence of three central midfielders allows for numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch. The wide wingers can isolate a one on one situation against the opposing full backs. By playing with three central defenders, the team can also maintain compactness when defending against quick transitions.

The 3-4-3 formation provides a high intensity attacking threat through vertical passing and pressing. It is best suited for matches where Liverpool can use their speed to hit in behind on the transition.
