MARIPAN focuses on winning headers and covering the space behind his partner, while COCO works to mark the striker and hold the line. The back four works to move as a single unit to catch opponents offside.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to protect the back line. RICCI and TAMEZE act as the two central midfielders who must cover massive amounts of ground. RICCI has the ability to carry the ball forward and drive into the half spaces, while TAMEZE sits deeper to shield the defense and win the second ball. These two players are vital to connect the defense and attack by recycling possession and finding the feet of the strikers. They must be ready to press in a mid-block to prevent the opponent from playing through the lines.

Torino utilizes four attackers to stretch the opposition. LAZARO stays wide on the right to pull defenders away, while KARAMOH plays on the left to cut inside and create threats. In the center, VLASIC and ADAMS work as a two-man partnership. VLASIC often drops slightly to link up play between the lines, whereas ADAMS makes runs in behind to challenge the center backs. The wingers aim to get to the byline and deliver early crosses to the two strikers. This front line presses from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

The Granata can exploit many gaps with this lineup. One major advantage is the ability to isolate wide players in one on one situations against the full backs. The team also gains a massive speed of transition, allowing them to hit the opponent in behind as soon as they win the ball.
