Walter guards the goal as the lone man in the defensive unit. The back line consists of a back three where David Bráz acts as the central defender to hold the line and manage the space. J. Malatini plays as the right center back and Alan E. occupies the left center back position to cover the wide areas. This defensive block works together to ensure they stay compact and prevent through balls. They aim to win the second ball and protect the area in front of Walter when the team sits deep.

The midfield operates with a four man unit that connects the defense to the attack. M. Jesus and Danielzinho form a central pairing to control the middle and win possession. M. Jesus helps to shield the defense while Danielzinho looks to drive forward with the ball to link the lines. On the flanks, Reinaldo and L. Cepeda act as wide midfielders to provide width and help the full backs. These players must track back to help the back three and ensure the team stays hard to beat in a mid-block.

Mirassol utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Alemão acts as the lone striker and stays central to find the feet of the striker and challenge for headers. Clayson and Marrony operate as wide attackers who look to cut inside to create chances. Clayson moves from the left while Marrony operates from the right to stretch the defense. These three forwards press from the front to force a long ball and create opportunities for quick breaks.

This formation offers the ability to press high in coordinated waves by using the front three to trigger the press. Mirassol can also create wide overloads when the midfielders Reinaldo and L. Cepeda push up to support the wingers. The three central defenders provide a strong base to defend against crosses and maintain compactness when the team drops into a low block.
