Técnico Universitario looks to control games through a high press and direct attacking play using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly transition into dangerous attacking situations. The lineup focuses on squeezing the space in the middle and stretching the opponent with wide threats.

Chávez starts in goal to command the area and organize the back four. The defensive unit operates with a high line where Carcelén acts as a right-sided centre-back to cover space and intercept passes. Gómez (Arg) plays as the left-sided centre-back to provide aerial strength and defend against central runners. Patta plays as the right-back to support the wide areas, while C.Angulo operates as the left-back to push forward and provide width. This back four works to maintain a compact block and force opponents wide.

The midfield is a three-man midfield with a single pivot. M.Cortez sits in front of the defence to shield the back four and recycle possession. To his right, Chicaiza operates as an inverted eight to drive forward with the ball and link the play. Jiménez (Col) plays on the left side of the midfield to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball into the half-spaces. This trio works together to compress the midfield and win the second ball during transitions.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. J.Caicedo plays as the left winger and cuts inside to create goal scoring chances. B.Angulo operates on the right wing to pull wide and deliver crosses into the box. González (Arg) leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and find space in behind. The front three look to combine in tight spaces or play through the lines to isolate defenders one on one.

Técnico Universitario gains a significant advantage through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three to trigger a press, the team can win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly. The formation also allows for wide overloads when Patta and B.Angulo overlap to overwhelm the opposition full-backs.

This 4-3-3 formation creates a relentless attacking threat through high intensity pressing and quick transitions. It is best suited for matches where the team can exploit a high defensive line or dominate possession in the middle third.
