Pisa aims to win the ball back high up the pitch through a heavy press and quick transitions. The team operates in a 3-4-3 formation designed to stretch the opposition and create overloads in wide areas. This lineup relies on high energy to maintain intensity across the pitch and move the ball forward rapidly once possession is regained.

Semper stays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back three features Caracciolo, Bonfanti, and Canestrelli working as a zonal line to control the central corridor. Caracciolo acts as the central defender to sweep behind the line and clear the lines, while Bonfanti and Canestrelli operate as wide centre-backs to cover the flanks. This unit works to keep the lines tight and prevent the opposition from playing through the center.

In the middle of the pitch, the team uses a four man midfield to control the tempo. Marin and Højholt form a double pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. Marin works to recycle possession, while Højholt drives forward to connect the defensive and attacking lines. The wide players, Touré and Angori, act as wing backs to provide width and track back to help the defensive unit when the team sits deep.

The attacking front line consists of three players focused on high pressing and verticality. Meister works as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and disrupt the build up. Moreo and Morutan operate as wide attackers, with Moreo looking to cut inside and Morutan to use his dribbling style to beat his man. This front three works to create runs in behind and isolate wide players in one on one situations through quick combinations.

Pisa finds success by creating wide overloads from the wing backs and the wide attackers. The coordination between Angori and Morutan allows the team to stretch the defence and deliver crosses into the box. Additionally, the ability to press in a mid-block ensures the team can win the ball in dangerous areas to launch immediate attacks.

This 3-4-3 formation is built to dominate games through high intensity and rapid verticality. It is best suited for facing teams that struggle to play out from the back or fail to track runners in the half spaces.
